A Brampton family is seeking the public’s assistance after multiple boxes of their cherished and sentimental vintage Christmas ornaments were accidentally donated to Value Village.

Anneliese Wiesener explains that about two weeks ago, her dad dropped off their old tree for donation at the Value Village on Bovaird Drive and Airport Road, without realizing that several boxes of their Christmas ornaments were packed with it.

Upon realizing that the ornaments were donated, Wiesener’s father, along with the rest of the family, were left heartbroken.

“The hardest part was seeing the look on my dad’s face in Value Village,” said Wiesener.

Weisener explained that the ornaments hold sentimental value and have been in the family for 50 years.

“These are the ornaments that my kids put on the tree when they were little. They hold a tremendous amount of sentimental value and we’re all heartbroken,” said Weisener, adding that Christmas will not feel the same this year.

The family contacted Value Village when they realized what had happened and managed to recover some of the ornaments, but unfortunately, several boxes of ornaments that held the most sentimental value to their family had already sold.

Wiesener said she is willing to provide compensation to anyone who may recover their ornaments. She can be reached at 905-484-0730.
