  • Most major grocery stores (call ahead to be sure)
  • Most convenience stores
  • Some restaurants (call ahead to be sure)
  • Bramalea City Centre will have reduced hours of operation from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Most Brampton Recreation Centres are open on Family Day (call ahead or check online to be sure)
  • Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA)
  • All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services

  • City Hall and select corporate facilities will be closed on Monday, reopening and resuming walk-in services on Tuesday.
  • COVID-19 vaccine clinics and routine school immunization clinics will be closed


  • Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday or Holiday Service schedule on Family Day.
  • Customer Service counters at all terminals, and the Clark and Sandalwood facilities, will be closed.
  • All TransHelp trips for Monday and Tuesday must be booked by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 19.
  • GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule


  • Garbage pickup is cancelled on Family Day across Brampton and the Region of Peel. Waste scheduled for pick-up on Monday will be collected on Tuesday instead.
  • All Community Recycling Centres will be closed Monday and will return to the regular schedule on Tuesday.
