Fake e-transfer scam targeting Mississauga and Brampton residents

It’s another busy week for scam artists who work through text messaging.

A local resident recently reported getting a scam text telling them they’d received money via an Interac e-Transfer.

The message looks like this:

Residents are reminded not to respond to scams like these, as scammers can use them to steal your personal data.
