There’s one less place in Milton to enjoy one of autumn’s favourite outdoor activities – apple picking.

Williams’ Orchards, a traditional, family-run apple picking farm that’s been located at 10101 Hume Court for 40 years, announced on their website that they won’t be open for picking this year.

“Due to a crop failure, we are now closed for the season. We hope to see you in 2024,” reads the alert here.

An untimely spring frost destroyed this year’s crop.

Williams’ Orchards was unique in its adherence to traditional orchards, there is no admission charge nor charge for parking. You only plaid for the fruit you pick.

The don’t allow buses or tour groups and they way you knew the farm was at capacity was when the parking lot was full. No street parking allowed.

The family is optimistic about being open next year.
