Eye drops and food products recalled for health concerns in Mississauga and Brampton

Multiple products have been recalled from stores in Ontario this week (May 2 to 8) due to potential health and safety risks, including stores in Mississauga and Brampton.

Residents are advised to check if they have these products at home and avoid using or consuming them out of caution.

The following products are affected:


Pharmasave Advanced Relief Eye Drops and Compliments Advanced Relief Eye Drops

Compliments Advanced Relief Eye Drops, 15 mL (bottle)

Risk: Teva Canada Ltd. says that some bottles may contain ingredients that are not identified on the label and can cause health risks for individuals who are allergic to these ingredients. The eye drops can be identified by the lot number AR21C03 printed on cartons and some bottles and the lot number RL21D01 printed on some bottles.

What you should do: Health Canada recommends against using this product. If you have used this product and have concerns, contact a health care professional.


Kerem brand “Feigen mit Reismehl” (dried figs)

Risk: Health Canada believes the product was contaminated by the chemical ochratoxin A.

What you should do: Do not consume the product and dispose of it in the garbage.


Pimlico Confectioners brand and Keats London brand vegan chocolate products

Pimlico Confectioners - Vegan Fine Hazelnut Truffles - 110g - label

Risk: TJX Canada is recalling three different vegan chocolate products because they may contain milk and it is not included on the label. The affected products are Vegan Irish Cream Truffles and Vegan Hazelnut Dark Chocolate from Keats London and Vegan Fine Hazelnut Truffles from Pimlico Confectioners.

What you should do: Do not consume the recalled product if you have a milk allergy. Dispose of the product in the garbage or return it to the store where it was purchased from.


Various Infant Winter Water Factory Products

Risk: Several pieces of infant apparel sold between August 2020 and April 2022 have been identified to contain a laceration and choking hazard. Small snaps on the clothing can detach and expose sharp prongs. The garments were sold in sizes 0M – 3T in several varying prints in the following styles: French terry jumpsuit, long sleeve romper, Summer romper, tank top romper, bubble romper, footed romper, long-sleeve snap suit, short-sleeve snap suit, Azalea baby dress, Oslo baby dress, Juniper baby dress, Geneva baby dress, Merano baby dress, French terry bib, kerchief bib. The following codes can identify the affected pieces and can be found on the bottom of the tag at the neck: TX-JM-I-XXII, TX-JM-VII-XXI, TX-JM-I-XXI, TX-JM-VII-XX.

What you should do: Immediately stop use of the affected products. Winter Water Factory is asking for garments to be destroyed by cutting them in half with scissors. The company then asks you to post a photo of the cut garment on their website. This is where consumers can choose either a full refund of the purchase price or a store credit with an additional 20% of the purchase price.
