Explosions reported in St. Catharines, residents told to stay indoors

Emergency crews are warning people to stay indoors as explosions were reported in St. Catharines.
Niagara Regional Police report the explosions are in the north end of St. Catharines, in the Seaway, Haulage Road and Keefer Road area.
“STAY indoors out of the smoke,” police said in a tweet at 7:29 a.m. today (Jan. 12).
Officers are evacuating nearby homes and businesses.
Police are working with the St. Catharines Fire and Emergencies and Services.
There are road closures and police are asking people to stay out of the area.
There are no other details at this point. Updates will be added as they become available.
