Expect traffic delays after watermain break on major Hamilton street

Hamilton motorists are being warned to expect traffic delays today (May 17) after a watermain break on a busy city street.

The City of Hamilton said the watermain break took place on Bay St. N. and that lane restrictions are anticipated on that major street between Cannon St. and Barton St. for most of the day on Wednesday, until about 3 p.m.

Hamilton Water is actively addressing the situation near 139 Bay St. N., with repair operations currently underway, the City said via social media.

Additionally, for the safety of all individuals involved, the bike lanes on Bay St., from Cannon St. to Barton St., will be temporarily closed.
