“Excessive wind” played a part in a collision in Halton Hills on Thursday where 73-year-old woman was critically injured.

The Halton Regional Police Service says that at 10:26 a.m. on Thursday (Dec. 16), their officers responded to a collision in the Town of Halton Hills on Trafalgar Road, between the No. 15 and No. 10 side roads. A vehicle travelling northbound on Trafalgar was struck by the trailer of a vehicle travelling southbound, which had been blown into the northbound lane by excessive wind.

The 73-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition at Hamilton General Hospital. That has led to police collision restruction unit taking control of the investigation.

The Halton police are appealing for the public’s assistance. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police may contact the collision reconstruction unit at 905-825-4747 ext.5065.
