There will be plenty to see for families and kids of all ages at the Canadian Automotive Museum during March Break.

Visitors can take their picture with Lightning McQueen, the star of Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3, and with a Herbie the Love Bug go-kart. New on display in the lobby is a bold red 1991 Honda Civic, built in Alliston, Ontario, and a special exhibition titled Wires to Wheels: Electric Vehicles of Canada and Beyond on display on the second floor.

Visitors can also make a fun plush car sewing craft (ages 6+), something that has auto museum’s visitor services manager Emily Finbow excited to highlight how March Break connects the museum’s collection to visitors. “Our March Break craft celebrates the generations of women who worked in the upholstery department at GM Oshawa. It’s great to teach kids about their local history and a new skill at the same time.”

Kids can also win a prize during March Break by completing a scavenger hunt (ages 3+) in the galleries. The museum is open daily from March 10 to 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and children five and under are admitted free.

Founded in 1963, the Canadian Automotive Museum is an independent not-for-profit charity that maintains the world’s most significant collection of Canadian automobiles. Its newly renovated Glenn Baechler Canadian Automotive Research Library is home to tens of thousands of historical documents and photographs related to Canadians and the vehicles they drive. Located in downtown Oshawa, the collection is housed in a former 1920s auto dealership building.
