Peel Region Launch of the Ocasi Graphic Novel "Telling Our Stories: Immigrant Women's Resilience"

The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) & Le Mouvement Ontarien des Femmes Immigrantes Francophones (MOFIF) ) is proud to share the next phase of its celebrated and successful graphic novel “Telling Our Stories: Immigrant Women's Resilience”. The new multilingual editions of the graphic novel will be launched in Brampton, Ontario on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Greenbriar Community Centre. The novels, which were first published in English and French, will now also be available in nine other languages including Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Dari, Arabic, Somali, Armenian, Chinese and Spanish. They are part of a provincial-wide public education campaign funded by the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration that focusses on finding ways to help prevent sexual violence in Ontario. The novels are free of charge and will be distributed in newcomer communities. We invite you to join us for the launch which will feature performances and readings of the graphic novels by some of the authors. The event is FREE and open to everyone.
