The Townsend Smith Foundation will be hosting its annual “Hike for Hospice” event this weekend.

The hike, which is back for the fifth year in a row, will take place at Milton Community Park, located at 805 Santa Maria Blvd. on May 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Those who are interested in registering will be required to pay a fee of $25 and will have the option to either hike, walk, run or bike. They will also have the option to participate virtually.

The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charitable organization working to build a hospice for North Halton as there are currently no hospice residences in Acton, Georgetown or Milton.

As a result, the foundation is raising funds through events and donors to bring awareness to the need for a hospice in the community.
