Join us for our ongoing Docs & Lattes series, this month featuring Mark Nickolas’s Nefertiti’s Daughters. A story of women, art and revolution told by prominent Egyptian artists, this documentary witnesses the critical role that revolutionary street art played during the Egyptian uprisings. Focused on the role of female artists in the struggle for social and political change, it spotlights how the iconic graffiti of Queen Nefertiti placed her on the front lines in the ongoing fight for women’s rights and freedom in Egypt today.

Event Schedule:
6:30pm - Grab yourself a fair trade coffee and ethical treat and settle in upstairs in the Artademic Centre!
6:45pm - Film intro, followed by screening of Nefertiti’s Daughters (40 mins)
7:30pm - Community discussion led by Jazzmine Lawton, Executive Director of YTGA (Youth Troopers for Global Awareness -
8:00pm - Linger and hangout in the cafe!
