Evening-rush crash shuts down two lanes on major Mississauga highway

A multiple-vehicle crash is causing traffic gridlock on a major Mississauga highway early Monday evening (July 8).

The accident occurred around 6 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of Highway 403, between Mavis Road and Creditview Road.

Police and emergency crews are currently on the scene. Witnesses say they were working to help get people out of the vehicles that were involved in the crash.

The collision has resulted in the closure of the right two lanes. Traffic on the eastbound 403 lanes in the area is backed up all the way to Erin Mills Parkway.

Commuters should avoid the area of the highway until the site of the crash is cleared, and police have completed their investigation.
