Escaped Inmate in Police Custody After Being Caught in Mississauga

Police have successfully located an escaped inmate in Mississauga and returned him to custody.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) team successfully located 56-year-old Gordan Putnam in Mississauga.

He is facing one count of being unlawfully at large and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday, July 30.

Putnam originally escaped custody at Beaver Creek Minimum Security Institution in Gravenhurst around 3:30 pm on Sunday, July 28.

He was known to frequently visit Mississauga.
