All of Brampton is invited to help ring in the new year at a meet-and-greet with city Mayor Patrick Brown and members of city council.

This weekend will see the Mayor’s New Year’s Levee in Brampton return for another year, with the mayor and councillors rubbing elbows with residents to exchange best wishes and greetings for the year ahead.

This year’s event will run on Sunday with the meet-and-greet from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Brampton City Hall Atrium with a reception, followed by a free community skate in Gage Park.

Attendees will get to hear from Brampton’s Town Crier, get their photos taken with Mayor Brown and councillors, lace up their skates and enjoy a live performance along with refreshments.

And with this year being Brampton’s 50th birthday, the city is encouraging residents to commemorate the milestone.

“Celebrate 50 years of tradition and participate in this long-standing reception as we take part in one of Brampton’s 50th milestone birthday celebrations,” the city said in a release.

The 50th-annual Mayor’s New Year’s Levee runs on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more details visit www.Brampton.ca.
