One of Milton’s favourite attractions opens its doors for the season in less than 10 days.

Springridge Farm will open on Thursday, April 6, with its farmyard, market and bakery all available for visitors.

“Welcome to our family farm,” says a message on Springridge’s website.

“We live here. We farm here. We believe in growing and in making and baking with the freshest farm flavours. We believe in recipes that have stood the test of time and in finding delicious ways to preserve and serve each season in our bakery and farm shop.

“We also believe in family and in making memories on this farm. We raised our children here – feeding farm animals, playing outside. Old fashioned farm fun is what we’re known for.”

The three main components of Springridge are the Fun Farmyard, Barn Market and Bakery.

The Fun Farmyard offers hours of family fun where kids can play, run, jump and explore and parents can sit back in big, red Muskoka chairs and keep an eye on them.

Here are some of the activities available:

  • spider web climber
  • tube slides
  • new singing tractor
  • new crank steam tractor
  • giant sandbox
  • straw play
  • goat mountain
  • escarpment lookout
  • farm animals
  • antique tractors
  • singing chicken show
  • pedal tractors & farm hoppers
  • tractor-drawn wagon ride

The 19th Century post-and-beam barn at the farm is home to the market. Step inside and you’ll find a dazzling array of fine foods, farmhouse preserves and farm fresh produce.

“For generations, we’ve searched farm and wide to bring the most gorgeous gifts, books, and signature homewares to our award-winning store. We can’t wait to welcome you.”

The baked goods sold at the market are all made on-site.

“Grandma Hughes’ farmhouse baking was legendary. Her recipes, some more than 75 years old, are the backbone of our bakery here at Springridge Farm.”

The pies and tarts are made by hand, using only the freshest ingredients.

Springridge Farm is located at 7256 Bell School Line in Milton.
