Suncor is closing its Mississauga and Oakville offices and moving the work out west.

The large energy firm announced the decision yesterday. There will be more than 700 jobs affected here.

Positions are those in marketing, sales and finance which includes the operation of its large network of Petro-Canada gas stations. This work will now operate out of its corporate headquarters in Calgary.

The move is expected to happen next year and follows a recent announcement that the company plans to eliminate 15 per cent of its workforce in the coming months.
