A contract agreement between 10,000 full-time support staff and Ontario’s 24 colleges means that transit can get back to normal for thousands of Brampton students.
During the month-long strike, Brampton college students faced transportation disruptions as Brampton Transit buses did not cross picket lines at both Sheridan College and Humber College. Instead, some buses detoured or dropped passengers off at temporary stops outside of the campuses.
Today, with the news of the settlement, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union says picket lines will come down and that workers will return to their jobs tomorrow (Oct. 16).
With that news, Brampton Transit says buses will resume regular routing at the Humber College and Sheridan College campuses to provide regular service.
