Update: Police make arrest in alleged sexual assault at Hamilton Mountain business

Hamilton police are still searching for a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she was at work. 

Hamilton police are have arrested a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she was at work.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. a male suspect entered a business in the area of Fennell and Upper Sherman. The lone female employee was interacting with the male suspect before “a sexual assault took place,” according to the Hamilton Police Service (HPS).

It is not known if the victim was targeted.

The HPS tweeted just before 7 p.m. on Friday that the suspect had been identified and arrested. They added that the business asked not to be named.

The investigation has been taken over by the victims of crime unit. Detectives are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Det. Phil Hedgcock at 905-540-5544 or Det.-Sgt. Jennifer Currie at 905-546-4962.
