The likelihood of rock and roll superstar Elton John showing up at a Welland Legion on a Saturday night are, indeed, pretty slim.

However, music lovers can have the next best thing – tribute act Elton Sean, who’s bringing his band for the “Early Elton Tribute” show on May 6.

That is exactly how it sounds – all of Elton John’s biggest hits from the 1970s when the singer, who trained at London’s Royal Academy of Music, exploded into international stardom within the span of his first few albums.

Elton Sean (real name unknown) brings the glamorous costumes, the glasses, the platform shoes and most of all, the hits and timeless songs of Elton John in the heyday of his songwriting and performance prowess.

The benefit show for the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4 Welland (383 Morningstar Ave) will have classic rock lovers up and dancing with hits like Crocodile Rock, Philadelphia Freedom, Pinball Wizard, Bitch Is Back and Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting.

That said, everyone loves a good slow dance so grab the one you love to rock ballads like Your Song, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Candle In the Wind and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.

The show will run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and available HERE
