It’s been a long time coming, but local residents will finally be able take the elevator at the Oakville Go Station.

Metrolinx said its reached out to the vendor responsible for repairing the elevator along Oakville Go’s East tunnel for tracks 3 and 4 and the vendor has given notice it should be back in service and available for public use by June 25.

The elevator in the East tunnel has been out of use since the summer of 2021. It had had to be taken offline after a water leak from the roof caused extensive damage.

Though the repairs were completed in January of this year, Oakville GO continued to experience intermittent outages due to the residual effects from the leakage.
