Electronics store hold-up at gunpoint in Brampton ends with charges for three teens

Three teenagers are facing charges and one suspect is still on the run after police say they held up an electronics store with a fake gun yesterday (May 16).

Peel Regional Police say four suspects came to an electronics store near Kennedy Road South and Clarence Street in Brampton on Tuesday armed with a handgun.

Three of the suspects entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of property before heading to a getaway vehicle with a fourth suspect waiting nearby, police said.

But just one hour after the hold-up investigators tracked suspects to the area of Jane St. and Finch Ave. in Toronto where they found a replica handgun and stolen property worth approximately $50,000.

An 18-year-old and two 19-year-old suspects were arrested while police say the getaway driver fled the scene.

Carlos Porter, 19, of Mississauga has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Using an Imitation Firearm
  • Wearing a Disguise with Intent
  • Failing to Comply with a Release Order

Police say Porter had recently been released on a Recognizance Order stemming from previous charges including ten counts of Robbery.

Jaheim Brown, 19, of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Using an Imitation Firearm
  • Wearing a Disguise with Intent

Trey Richardson-James, 18, of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Using an Imitation Firearm
  • Wearing a Disguise with Intent

The accused were held for bail hearings and appeared in court in Brampton on Wednesday. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
