Twelve electricians from across the GTA and beyond are sharing a $1 million prize for hitting the bullseye with Lotto 6/49.

The group matched all seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the December 17, 2022 draw. They also won an extra $20 for getting a few more numbers right on their ticket.

“I checked the ticket on the OLG App and when I saw the $1 million prize amount, I was so excited, I couldn’t believe it,” Tomasz Polanowski shared while picking up the cheque at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto.

“He called me and sent a screenshot of the win. I thought, ‘Yep, that’s $1 million,'” John Veshovski recalled. “It feels fantastic! There’s no other way to describe it.”

The happy dozen have been playing the lottery together for the past eight months and while the win is recent, they each have made some plans with their windfall including some home renovations and traveling.

“I will use this toward my trip to Egypt,” Thomas Price said.

The winning ticket was bought at a Petro Canada on Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Etobicoke.
