If you have ever wanted to learn what electric vehicles are really all about, or if you simply want to take an electric car out for a spin, you will get plenty of chances over the next six weeks to do so.

Plug’n Drive, is a non-profit organization committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in Canada, is bringing the learning – as well as the cars – to a series of hands-on seminars in Durham, starting with MEET Oshawa from July 29 to August 1.

You’ll get to meet Plug’n Drive’s EV ambassadors, get your questions answered and even take test drives in some of the latest EV models.

The seminars provide interactive learning displays that show you why Plug’n Drive believes EVs deliver better performance, are cheaper to operate and maintain and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The seminars also offer an EV charging station showcase, take-away materials that contain everything you need to know about electric cars, and, of course, the opportunity to test drive some of the cars.

Electric vehicles available for testing include:

• Chevrolet Bolt
• Kia Niro EV SX Tourin
• MINI Cooper SE
• Polestar 2
• VolvoXC40 Recharge

The Oshawa event will be held in the Queen Street parking lot at City Hall. Following Oshawa, the seminars will move to the Courtice Community Centre (August 5-8); Iroquois Park Sports Centre (South parking lot) in Whitby (August 12-15); Audley Recreation Complex in Ajax (August 19-22); Pickering City Hall (August 26-29); and Palmer Park in Port Perry (September 9-12).

The events are by appointment only, with full Covid-19 protocols in place.

The number of appointments in each city is limited. If you cannot find a time that works for you, there are several local dealerships that are available to provide EV test drives. Contact [email protected] for more information.
