Elderly Burlington man killed in early morning crash on residential street

A Burlington driver was killed in a vehicle collision early this morning, Wednesday, Sept. 14.

At around 7:30 a.m., Halton police responded to reports of a collision near the residential intersection of King Rd. and Cedar Ave. in Aldershot.

The collision occurred when a blue Toyota Corolla travelling southbound on King Road crossed over the centre line and struck a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe.

The 83-year-old man who was operating the Toyota Corolla was pronounced dead at hosptial.

The driver of the Tahoe, a 75 year-old male resident of Burlington, suffered minor injuries.

The area was closed for about six hours by the Halton police Collision Reconstruction Unit in order to conduct an at-scene collision investigation and subsequent debris clean up.
