Durham Region’s Covid-19 new case load rose by 18 yesterday, up slightly from Sunday’s new case total of 14 but still down from Saturday’s total of 20.

More than half of the new reports are from Ajax, who recorded 10 new cases yesterday.

There are four people who have contracted the virus now in hospital but none are in ICU. Delta variant cases have now risen to 201, with six active.

The percentage of Durham residents 12 and older who are fully vaccinated is up to 72.8 per cent, with 79.3 per cent of the same demographic having received at least one dose.

Oshawa has hit the 69 per cent mark for fully vaccinated 12-plus residents, but it is still below the Durham average of 73.3 per cent.
