School bus shortages today (March 6) are somewhat mitigated in Durham Region with just 18 routes cancelled today involving 13 schools in Oshawa, Clarington and Port Perry.

Two-thirds of the cancellations are on routes offered by Century Transport with the other six from First Student.

The schools facing cancellations, mostly from a driver shortage problem that has plagued the industry the entire year, are Elsie McGill (AM only), Forest View (PM only), St. Anne (AM only), Dr. SJ Phillips (PM only) and Jeanne Sauve (both morning and afternoon) in Oshawa; Port Perry High School in Scugog; and seven schools in Clarinton: Duke of Cambridge, St. Joseph, Clarington Central Intermediate, Vincent Massey and Bowmanville, Clarington Central and St. Stephen high schools.

Not all routes to these schools are cancelled. Check with STSCO delays and cancellations for schools in Clarington and DSTS delays and cancellations for bus routes in the rest of Durham.
