East Hamilton school under hold-and-secure order due to police investigation

An elementary school in east Hamilton is under a hold-and-secure order Wednesday (Feb. 2) as police conduct an investigation nearby.
Hamilton Police said an investigation underway in the area of King Street East and Kenilworth Avenue South has prompted the lockdown of A.M. Cunningham Elementary School, located at 100 Wexford Ave.
Kenilworth, from Monterrey to Normandy, is closed to traffic as officers remain in the area for the investigation.
Motorists and residents are urged to avoid the area.
