East Hamilton elementary school closed due to power outage

Hillcrest Elementary School in East Hamilton is closed Tuesday (Feb. 9) due to a power outage.

Just before 8 a.m., the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) tweeted that the school will be closed to staff and students due to the outage.

The board says crews are on site to repair the problem but an estimated return to power was yet to be determined.

The cause of the outage has not been disclosed.
