It’s a safe bet that Jobin Joy has never received a more welcome email in his life.

The 36-year-old married Mississauga father of one was alerted to his $500,000 Lotto Max Maxmillions win in the Oct. 21 draw by email early the next morning.

“I found out I won when I received an email from OLG. It was very exciting,” Joy shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

Joy, who says he only plays the lottery when the jackpots are high, quickly shared the big news with his wife.

“It was 7 a.m., so she had to double and triple check. She was so excited,” recalled the Mississauga man.

Joy says he plans to pay off his mortgage and save some of his winnings for his daughter.

“It feels amazing,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at OLG.ca.
