An e-bike rider has died after losing control and crashing in Hamilton.

Emergency crews responded to a report that an e-bike rider had lost control and was ejected from the bike shortly after 4:30 p.m. yesterday (April 15) on Glen Valley Drive in the city’s west end, Hamilton Police said in a press release today.

The 36-year-old man, from Hamilton, was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, police said.

This is the city’s sixth traffic fatality of 2024, police said.

Glen Valley Drive was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since re-opened.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

Police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.

Investigators are also requesting any drivers in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their camera footage.
