Dynasty Toronto restaurant opens a second location in trendy area

A very sought-after Toronto taco spot has sneakily opened a second location in a trendy neighbourhood.

Wilbur Mexicana, a King Street staple that has been a touchstone for Mexican cuisine in the city for over a decade (a Toronto rarity), just sneakily joined the ranks of the Liberty Village food scene with the opening of Wilbur’s Taco Shop.

The location, which naturally has a focus on a more relaxed atmosphere with tacos in the spotlight, opened this month and has been generating some buzz within downtown Toronto.

The interior of the new taco spot is expansive and brightly lit, with vinyl classics spinning all day to set the vibe — a giant patio attached to it doesn’t hurt either.

“Our newest spot brings the same authentic flavours and fun atmosphere to this vibrant neighbourhood,” reads Wilbur’s official website.

In trying to stay in theme with the original spot, Wilbur’s Taco Shop features just about every kind of taco you can think of, from supreme, bulgogi, al pastor, baja fish, mushroom, crispy cauliflower and carne asada.

Guests can also anticipate some classic Mexican street food alongside quesadillas and fajitas, like incredibly savoury Mexican street corn with cream, cojita and lime, as well as tortilla chips with guacamole or queso, or just the classic chips and salsa.

While Liberty Village is only gaining more momentum in the major Toronto food scene, this new spot encourages guests to shift gears, slow down, and enjoy the summer.

The new Wilbur’s Taco Shop is now officially open at 50 Atlantic Ave in Toronto.
