Durham Police looking for arson suspect after tattoo shop fire in Oshawa

Investigators are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who fled from an arson early this morning in Oshawa.

Durham Police responded to a tattoo shop on Wilson Road South after a fire was observed by a passerby at around 2:40 a.m. Police arrived to find a smashed front door and a fire inside the shop. Officers used a fire extinguisher to douse the fire, with assistance from Oshawa Fire Services.

The suspect is described as male, 5’11” tall, thin build, wearing a black hoodie with a white emblem and wearing a white mask. The man was observed outside the store prior to the glass being smashed. He fled on foot.

Investigators are treating this as an arson.
