Durham hits the 80 per cent vaccination threshold – just 14 new COVID-19 cases, including two each in Pickering and Ajax

Durham Region has finally achieved an 80 per cent vaccination rate for its 12-plus population on a day when just 14 new COVID-19 cases were reported, including four each in Pickering and Whitby. Brock is now into its second week with no new cases reported and has zero active cases in the township.

There are 141 active cases in the region as of Tuesday, including 35 in Oshawa.

There are three institutional outbreaks with seven residents isolating and one workplace outbreak. Five schools and day cares have declared outbreaks and Monseigneur Leo Cleary Catholic School in Courtice remains closed to in-school learning.
