Durham Police officers were busy last Thursday and Friday catching speeders in Whitby, with two drivers nabbed for doing more than 100 km/hr in 60 km/hr zones.

Officers were conducting speed enforcement in north Whitby Thursday evening when they clocked a man at 104 km/hr. The 60 year-old was charged with various offences, including stunt driving, and his vehicle impounded and his drivers licence suspended.

The next evening officers caught a G2 driver travelling at speeds “in excess of” 100 km/hr near Anderson and St. Thomas streets. The 21 year-old driver was also charged with stunt driving and saw his license suspended and car impounded.
