Durham cops bust human trafficking ring; two St. Catharines men charged

The Durham Police Human Trafficking Unit, with assistance from Niagara Regional Police, has two men in custody after a months-long investigation into human trafficking.

The investigation began in February after officers learned of a woman who was being trafficked at an Oshawa hotel. On Wednesday, July 27 the two men – both from St. Catharines – were arrested and charged.

Louizidor Fenelon and Davontae Edwards, both 19, have been charged with material benefit from sexual services; procuring/exercise control; advertise sexual services; traffic in persons by recruiting/exercise control; and material benefit trafficking person over 18.

They were both held for bail hearings.
