A dump truck driver has been rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after a rollover crash in Brampton on Friday (Oct. 21).

Just before 9:30 a.m., Peel Regional police say officers were called to The Gore Rd. and Castlemore Rd. after a dump truck tipped over.

The driver was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition, police say.

Pictures from the scene show the dump truck rolled over onto its right side, spilling its contents across the sidewalk.

Police said no other vehicles were involved in the collision and no other injuries have been reported.

The crash has either closed or restricted roads in the area.

Traffic on Eastbound Castelmore at The Gore Rd. is being redirected southbound.

Westbound Castlemore at Gardenbrook has been closed, as has northbound Gore at Fitzpatrick Dr.

Southbound traffic has also been blocked on southbound Gore at the Gore Meadows Community Centre.

Police said the Ministry of Labour has been alerted to the crash and is attending the scene.
