Two-time series champion L.P. Dumoulin earned his first victory of the season in the Olymel Grand Prix of Ontario at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) Saturday.

Dumoulin, who won NASCAR Pinty’s Series titles in 2014 and 2018, will try to reach the winner’s circle again today in the Clarington 200.

Dumoulin grabbed the lead from Gary Klutt, who paced the opening 20 circuits from the pole, with 10 laps remaining and held off a hard-charging Marc-Antione Camirand for the victory.

It was Dumoulin’s fourth career victory at the Bowmanville track and his third consecutive top-five finish this season. The result also pushes him to the top of series’ standings ahead of former Indy car star Alex Tagliani, ahead of the 51-lap event this afternoon.

Camirand finished second for the third time in his 11-race career at CTMP. Treyten Lapcevich also earned his best finish this year in third, with Tagliani and Klutt rounding out the top five.
