A woman was attacked during an early-morning attempted robbery in Mississauga, after a confrontation with a man carrying drumsticks who tried to steal her vehicle keys, according to police.

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect following the incident, which took place in Mississauga.

Police say the victim had just parked and exited her vehicle on Friday, June 26 at approximately 5:45 a.m., in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Mississauga Road, when she was approached by an unknown man who demanded her car keys.

When the woman refused, police say the situation escalated quickly. The suspect allegedly smashed her cell phone on the ground before pushing her to the pavement and tearing at her clothing during a struggle as he attempted to take her keys.

The suspect then fled the area on foot, heading southbound.

Police have released a description of the suspect as a white male, approximately 35 years old, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, with a medium build and a clean-shaven face. He is also described as having distinctive straight white teeth.

At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a black baseball cap, a surgical mask, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black jogger pants and black shoes. He was also seen carrying a pair of drumsticks in his left hand.

Police say the incident appears to be isolated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133.
