Drugs, loaded firearm seized during traffic stop in Mississauga: Police

Charges have been laid against two people following a recent traffic stop in Mississauga.
At 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, police say they stopped a vehicle at Dundas Street East and Blundell Road.
“As a result of the investigation, officers located a quantity of drugs along with a loaded 9mm firearm,” said police.
26 year old Steven Hughes of no fixed address and 38 year old Toronto woman Tania Varga are facing charges related to the unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Both were held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
