Drugs, guns and crossbow found in raid by Caledon cops, Collingwood man charged

A 34-year-old from Collingwood is facing 10 charges after drugs and weapons including a handgun and crossbow were found in a search by officers from Caledon and several other detachments last week.
The OPP says officers have made an arrest in a drug trafficking investigation that started in the spring of 2023.
Police say the case led officers from the Huronia West Crime Unit to start “an investigation involving the same individual.”
The OPP says officers from several detachments including the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit and Huronia West searched a home in the Collingwood area last Tuesday (Sept. 12) where suspected blue fentanyl, MDMA pills and cocaine were found.
Police also recovered a loaded .45 calibre Smith and Wesson M&P handgun, a mini crossbow, drug paraphernalia and multiple cell phones during the search.
A 34-year-old from Collingwood was arrested and charged with multiple drug and firearm offences.
Brandone Smith, 34 of Collingwood has been charged by the OPP with several offences including four counts of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, use of a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence, and possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing and has been remanded in custody until the next court date.
