Drug trafficking charges for men from Mississauga, Brampton after cops stop car

Guelph traffic stop leads to charges for men from Mississauga and Brampton.

A Mississauga man and Brampton man are facing drug trafficking charges after police in Guelph pulled over a car late Monday afternoon.

According to Guelph Police, officers who stopped the vehicle near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. subsequently discovered 34 Dilaudid pills, which are painkillers, and $5,155 in cash.

Police said the traffic stop was part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation spearheaded by the force’s Break Enter Auto Theft Unit.

A 27-year-old Mississauga man and a 30-year-old Brampton man have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They’ll appear in court on Aug. 13.
