Building Bridges: Celebrating Police – Community Partnerships is the theme of Police Week 2023 in Durham, which begins Sunday and has its official launch at an event at the Oshawa Centre Monday morning.

Media Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss will also be doing a tweet-a-long next Thursday starting at 10 a.m. and you can follow along @DRPS using hashtag #DRPStweets.

Police Week is celebrated nationally, with the aim to celebrate the important role police officers and personnel play in helping Canadian build and maintain healthy and safe communities in partnership with the communities they serve.

Officers from DRPS’ Community Safety Unit will be hosting an information booth at the Oshawa Centre from Monday to Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The public is invited to the official launch on May 15 at 10 a.m. at the mall’s upper level near the Old Navy store.
