Drivers should avoid major Milton road during summer reconstruction

Drivers who use Burnhamthorpe Road in south Milton should expect significant delays over the summer.

As part of its ongoing program to upgrade asphalt, the Town of Milton will be working on the Burnhamthorpe Road Rehabilitation project, will include the following:

• Road reconstruction and associated shouldering enhancements
• Driveway transitions
• Road crossing culvert relining and replacements

The work will take place between Regional Road 25 to Tremaine Road from May 27 until August 30. Construction timelines are dependent on many factors, including weather.

In order to expedite the work, lane closures will occur daily and traffic delays are expected.

Access to all residences and emergency services will be maintained during construction. Staged closures may be required to facilitate work. Local residents will receive notices if a closure directly impacts them.
