Driver suffers life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Brampton

Driver in life threatening condition following single vehicle crash in Brampton

A driver is fighting for their life in hospital after being involved in a crash in Brampton this morning.

According to Peel Regional Police, a single-vehicle collision happened shortly before 9 a.m., near the intersection of Orenda Road and West Drive.

It is unknown at this time what caused the driver to lose control of their vehicle.

As a result of the accident the driver was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have yet to disclose the identity or personal information of the driver involved in the crash, such as his name, age, and residence. However, a user identified as DR @Media371  X (formerly Twitter) reported that the driver is a man in his 40’s who was found unconscious with serious burn injuries and has since been taken to Sunnybrook Hospital for medical attention.

Several police vehicles and a firetruck are presently at the collision site.

Police say, the Major Collision Bureau will also be at the scene attending with investigations.

Additionally, authorities have sealed off the roads with yellow caution tape and are advising motorists to use alternative routes.

Officers have not provided an estimated timeline for when the roads will reopen to traffic.
