Driver nabbed at twice the speed limit on Hwy 401 in Ajax

A driver was stopped on Hwy 401 in Ajax Monday morning on his way home after a midnight shift doing nearly twice the speed limit.

Ontario Provincial Police say the driver was clocked at 197 km/hr. near Westney Road in Ajax.

The driver was also charged with improper muffler in addition to stunt driving, which carries an automatic 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
