Two people have been charged after police say they made a run from officers in a stolen vehicle.

The OPP says an officer was out on patrol in the area of Mayfield Road and Dixie Road around 10:45 p.m. on Monday when they spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

That’s when police say the driver fled from police, losing control of the stolen vehicle.

Two suspects then got out of the vehicle and tried to make a run from police on foot, but investigators say they were both arrested and charged with multiple offences.

Police say officers also found a loaded handgun while searching the vehicle.

The OPP has charged Marvin Dubois, 25, and Jancy Mukunzi, 23, with multiple offences including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possess a loaded firearm.

Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing in Orangeville Provincial Court on Tuesday.
