Driver knocks down hydro pole in Brampton

A driver in Brampton has been charged with impaired driving after hitting a hydro pole with their vehicle and causing damage to a nearby bus shelter.

Peel Regional Police say the collision happened in the area of Kennedy Rd. and Edgemont Dr. in Brampton around noon.

A single vehicle reportedly hit and knocked down a hydro pole. The pole damaged a nearby bus shelter on its way down.

Peel Paramedics extracted the driver from the vehicle and transported them to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they received reports of the collision shortly after noon today (Sept. 18).

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes where available.


UPDATE: Peel police report that the driver has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.
