Driver in hospital after tractor trailer and a garbage truck crash closes Uxbridge road

A driver in hospital and stretch of road just outside on the town of Uxbridge remains closed after a transport truck and a garbage truck crashed into each other.

The vehicles collided on Lake Ridge Rd, just to the southeast of the town. One of the drivers was injured in the crash and was rushed to a Toronto trauma center.

As result of the collision Durham Regional Police have shut down Lake Ridge Rd from Scugog Line 9 to Strattonville Cres while the Collision Investigation Unit collects evidence.

They’ve also shuttered Reach St from Meed Rd to Testa Rd for the investigation.

DRPS made the collision public shortly before 1:30 p.m. They have not released any information on when to expect the road to re-open.
