Police have shared more details from a hit-and-run crash that left two teens injured in Caledon, including one rushed to hospital with life-threatening wounds.

The collision happened on Nov. 21 when police say a 16-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were hit from behind by the driver of a vehicle, the OPP says.

The two teens were walking southbound on Albion Vaughan Road near Queensgate Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. when they were struck, but the driver took off before police could arrive. The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition while the 14-year-old only suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Now, more than four months after the hit-and-run collision, investigators say they believe the offending driver was in an early-2000’s model light brown or grey Toyota Camry or Corolla.

Police found an after-market side mirror at the crash scene believed to belong to the suspect vehicle, and say the suspected Toyota would have also sustained damage to the front right corner and headlight area.

And while police are closing in on the culprit investigators are pleading with the driver and any passengers in the vehicle to come forward and speak with investigators.
